Baseball Recap: Kelso Gets the Win

Kelso proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Battle Ground Tigers a 1-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Hilanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bryce Collins made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Collins was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Kelso's record is now 2-0. As for Battle Ground, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Kelso will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Camas at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Battle Ground, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on King's Way Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Battle Ground is facing King's Way Christian at the right time seeing as King's Way Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
