Baseball Game Preview: Dekaney Wildcats vs. MacArthur Generals

For the second straight game, Dekaney will face off against MacArthur. The Wildcats will face off against the Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dekaney took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past MacArthur 13-3. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Michael Hayes made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Hayes was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. He has become a key player for Dekaney: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 12-13 otherwise.

In other batting news, Dekaney let Romeo Flores and Anthony Cruz run wild. Flores scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Cruz scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Flores a new career-high in RBI (three). Aziz Muhammad was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Dekaney's record is now 15-13. As for MacArthur, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
