Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne South Side Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Fort Wayne South Side and Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fort Wayne South Side had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Patriots. The Archers were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Demetric George Jr. paced Fort Wayne South Side's offense, picking up eight kills. George Jr. got some help from Zin Oo and his 19 assists. Finally, Sergio Mamani kept Fort Wayne South Side's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Heritage found their leader in sophomore Chase Buuck, who had 13 digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Buuck.

Fort Wayne South Side's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Heritage, their record now sits at 15-4.

Fort Wayne South Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Bellmont on the 17th.
