Baseball Recap: Algonac Comes Up Short

The Algonac Muskrats didn't have quite enough to beat the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks on Saturday and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Muskrats have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Algonac and nudges their season record down to 8-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Bloomfield Hills, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Algonac will square off against Hazel Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bloomfield Hills, they will challenge Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Black Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
