Recap: Smith-Cotton Tigers vs. Versailles Tigers

The Smith-Cotton Tigers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Versailles 72-37. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Smith-Cotton in their matchups with Versailles: they've now lost seven in a row.

It was another big night for Ryder Williams, who scored 32 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Versailles. Williams is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Tristan Albrecht was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Smith-Cotton's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Versailles, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith-Cotton will take on Warrensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Versailles on the road again on Tuesday and play against St. Paul Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. St. Paul Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Versailles is ranked 44th).
