Softball Preview: Ticonderoga Sentinels vs. Plattsburgh Hornets

Ticonderoga has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Plattsburgh Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Ticonderoga's favor is that they have posted big run totals every time they've taken the field this season.

Ticonderoga is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Tuesday, just like they did against North Warren Central (and have done all season long). Everything went Ticonderoga's way against North Warren Central on Monday as Ticonderoga made off with a 34-1 win. While fans of Ticonderoga might be used to big wins, the 33-run margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Cassidy Mattison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits over five innings pitched. Mattison was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs while going 3-for-6.

In other batting news, Addy Moore was a standout: she went 5-for-6 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Jaelyn Whitford was another key contributor, scoring six runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances.
