Recap: Splendora Wildcats vs. Livingston Lions
The Splendora Wildcats were the 52-46 winner over the Livingston Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Splendora took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Livingston. Splendora just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Splendora lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Justin Kelley. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Ballah, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Splendora were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livingston only racked up eight assists.
It was another big night for Jayden Randolph, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 rebounds for Livingston. Randolph has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ziekus Garner, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Splendora dropped their record down to 15-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Livingston, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Splendora will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hardin-Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. As for Livingston, they will head out on the road to face off against Hargrave at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hargrave will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
