Softball Recap: Myrtle Beach Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Myrtle Beach was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carolina Forest Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seahawks of the 17-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Myrtle Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Thompson, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Myrtle Beach dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Carolina Forest, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8-1.

While Myrtle Beach had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
