Bishop Moore gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Oviedo Lions, posting a 68-35 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.
Amar'E Johnson went supernova, rushing for 223 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Blake McCullough, who threw for 322 yards and five touchdowns while completing 79.3% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bishop Moore was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oviedo only rushed for 151 rushing yards.

Bishop Moore and Oviedo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Hornets will square off against Orlando Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (44 vs. 167). Meanwhile, Oviedo (ranked 97th) will meet Sickles (ranked 424th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
