Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes, falling 76-52. Heritage Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Heritage Academy Gateway earlier this season, when they won 70-61.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Academy Gateway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Harper, who went 8 for 17 en route to 19 points along with eight steals and five assists. Harper has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Lemieux, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Eduprize the next time they take the court. Heritage Academy will host Eduprize at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Heritage Academy Gateway will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
