McGehee had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Drew Central Pirates. The Owls have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Kynleigh White made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Abbott, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ivy Green, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

McGehee's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Drew Central, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, McGehee will welcome Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Drew Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Hamburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
