Baseball Recap: West Field Takes a Loss

West Field saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost 8-1 to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

West Field saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Penland, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Andrew Charlsworth also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

West Field now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Maple Mountain, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Coming up, West Field will take on Crimson Cliffs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Crimson Cliffs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so West Field's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Maple Mountain, they will challenge Copper Hills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
