After losing to Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind the last time they met, Appalachian Christian School decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trailblazers blew past the Fox Defenders 52-28 on Thursday. The Trailblazers pushed the score to 45-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fox Defenders cut but never quite recovered from.

Appalachian Christian School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Traynham led the charge by putting up eight points. That's the most points Traynham has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Vazquez, who scored eight points.

Appalachian Christian School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jackson Winslow had nine points and six rebounds.

Appalachian Christian School has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 31.5 points thus far. As for Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appalachian Christian School will host Harrisonburg HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Faith Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on December 2.
