Basketball Game Preview: Academy of Richmond County Musketeers vs. Hephzibah Rebels

Academy of Richmond County is 2-8 against Hephzibah since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Academy of Richmond County Musketeers will challenge the Hephzibah Rebels at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Academy of Richmond County was beaten by Cross Creek 66-38. The Musketeers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Academy of Richmond County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jahmaya Lambert, who posted nine points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Butler, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Hephzibah can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took down Aquinas 53-37.

Hephzibah's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Academy of Richmond County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Academy of Richmond County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Hephzibah when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Academy of Richmond County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
