University is 7-2 against Greenwood Christian Academy since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Trailblazers will host the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
University proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory.
Cooper Cammack made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cammack was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Phillip Jacobs was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. He has become a key player for University: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Cooper Burnett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Greenwood Christian Academy faced off against Bloomfield on Saturday. The Cougars came up short against the Cardinals, falling 11-5.
Greenwood Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Camden, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another was Chase Comerford, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
University's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. University has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Greenwood Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
University was able to grind out a solid victory over Greenwood Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, winning 4-0. Will the Trailblazers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
