Soccer Game Preview: Elk Grove vs. Hersey

Elk Grove is 0-7-2 against Hersey since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Grenadiers will host the Huskies at 6:45 p.m. Elk Grove will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While Elk Grove's win against Hoffman Estates wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Grenadiers' defense stepped up to hand the Hawks a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. That's two games straight that Elk Grove have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Sophia Dean, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Hersey won against Schaumburg last Wednesday with four goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Huskies' way against Conant as they made off with a 4-1 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

The win made it two in a row for Hersey and bumps their season record up to 5-6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two matches. As for Elk Grove, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-7.
