Basketball Game Preview: Robertson Cardinals vs. West Las Vegas Dons

Robertson is 10-0 against West Las Vegas since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Robertson Cardinals will face off against the West Las Vegas Dons at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Robertson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matchups.

West Las Vegas better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Robertson really get things going. Robertson put the hurt on Santa Fe Prep with a sharp 70-50 victory on Tuesday. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Robertson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jesse James Gonzales, who went 9 for 14 en route to 22 points. Gonzales' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Gonzales, who posted 14 points along with six assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, West Las Vegas waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 66-57.

Robertson's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for West Las Vegas, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Robertson beat West Las Vegas 62-52 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Robertson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
