Basketball Recap: Clovis Takes a Loss

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 165th).

Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Na'Jae Stevenson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Stevenson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gerald Perry, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points.

Clovis' loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Central, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-12.

Clovis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central has already played their next game (against Tulare Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
