Basketball Recap: Harlem Takes a Loss

Harlem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 56-48 to the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-13 back in December of 2024.

NaCja Johnson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kimauri Jackson, who scored 11 points.

Harlem's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Academy of Richmond County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Harlem will venture away from home to face off against Cross Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Academy of Richmond County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-44 win against Aquinas on the 4th.
