Baseball Recap: Willow Spring Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Willow Spring can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Garner Trojans, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Storm have posted since March 11th.

Willow Spring's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Anderson II, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Anderson II a new career-high.

Willow Spring pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Garner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willow Spring will take on Corinth Holders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Storm's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Garner, they will challenge Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
