Volleyball Recap: DeKalb Gets the Win

After losing to Kaneland the last time they met, DeKalb decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Barbs came out on top against the Knights by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.

DeKalb never let Kaneland on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16.

Amaya Kemp paced DeKalb's offense, picking up seven kills. Kemp got some help from Maddi Hollar and her 16 assists. Hollar was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

DeKalb's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kaneland, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, DeKalb will host Genoa-Kingston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kaneland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against South Elgin on the 6th.
