Basketball Recap: Bellevue Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Bellevue faced off against Dawson Springs on Thursday. The Bellevue Tigers took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dawson Springs Panthers. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Dawson Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Montgomery Johnston led the charge by going 9 for 15 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Blue, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards.

Bellevue's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-6. As for Dawson Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Bellevue didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-35 defeat against Boone County on the 27th. As for Dawson Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-58 loss against North Hardin on the 27th.
