Basketball Recap: Campbell County Camels vs. Laramie Plainsmen
Campbell County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were dealt a 56-25 loss at the hands of the Laramie Plainsmen. The Camels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Plainsmen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.
As for Laramie, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.
Laramie can attribute much of their success to Stacy Ruggles, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 11 points along with seven boards and five steals. Those five steals gave Ruggles a new career-high. Samantha Mathews was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Campbell County is set to square off against their familiar foe Thunder Basin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Laramie will face off against rival Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
