Softball Preview: Seton Saints vs. Ross Rams
The Seton Saints will head out to square off against the Ross Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Seton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Mercy McAuley.
Meanwhile, Ross had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 20-10 victory. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Kam Commins, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Powers, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ross kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.
