Basketball Recap: Heathwood Hall Episcopal Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

On Wednesday, the Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Ridge View Blazers, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dakota Jenkins, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jenkins a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camillea Gore, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 19 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Ridge View still got an impressive performance from Anasia Harvey, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Harvey is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janiya Carter, who put up 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ridge View, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-45 loss against Andrew Jackson on the 21st. As for Ridge View, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Timber Creek at 9:55 a.m. on December 27th.
