Soccer Game Preview: Rockledge vs. Merritt Island

The Rockledge Raiders will challenge the Merritt Island Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockledge is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Rockledge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Palm Bay onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Give the Raiders' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Palm Bay from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Alyssa Pollard led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Merritt Island came up short against Cocoa Beach last Tuesday and fell 4-2.

Merritt Island now has a losing record at 4-5-3. As for Rockledge, the win got them back to even at 7-7-3.
