Basketball Game Preview: Foss Falcons vs. Steilacoom Sentinels

Foss is 2-8 against Steilacoom since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Foss Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Steilacoom Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-13, which was the final score in Foss' tilt against Eatonville on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Cruisers are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Steilacoom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-32 heartbreaker at the hands of Orting.

Steilacoom's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Foss, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Foss came up short against Steilacoom when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 50-37. Can Foss avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
