Softball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Hiawatha lost against Silver Lake on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Hawks came up short against the Eagles, falling 26-7. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Claire Twombly was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Hiawatha's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Silver Lake, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hiawatha will square off against rival Sabetha at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th. Meanwhile, Silver Lake is set to take on their familiar foe Jefferson West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Tigers a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
