Softball Recap: St. Paul Swordsmen vs. Paramount Pirates
St. Paul won the last time they faced Paramount and things went their way on Saturday too. The St. Paul Swordsmen walked away with an 8-3 win over the Paramount Pirates.
Mya Beserra made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Beserra was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aleena Gutierrez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Claire Marin was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
St. Paul kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory got St. Paul back to even at 5-5. As for Paramount, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
