Softball Recap: Squalicum Takes a Loss

Squalicum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-3 to the Mount Vernon Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 24-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Squalicum saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keisha McCloud, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Squalicum's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mount Vernon, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Squalicum is set to challenge their familiar foe Anacortes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mount Vernon will face off against rival Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
