Baseball Recap: Shikellamy Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Shikellamy and Danville, and Danville kept the tradition alive. Shikellamy fell 9-6 to Danville on Monday. The Braves have struggled against the Ironmen recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Shikellamy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chayse Snyder, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Snyder has posted since back in April of 2024. Tristan Yarger was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Shikellamy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Shikellamy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Danville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Shikellamy and Danville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Shikellamy is set to face off against their familiar foe Jersey Shore at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Danville will square off against rival Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
