Southwest Guilford proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the East Forsyth Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Southwest Guilford had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 26-28, 25-18, 26-24, 15-7.

Neala Bateson paced Southwest Guilford's offense, picking up 17 kills. Bateson got some help from Isabelle Tran and her 43 assists. Halena Bateson controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Southwest Guilford now has a winning record of 8-7. As for East Forsyth, they dropped their record down to 6-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Southwest Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Southwestern Randolph on the 15th. As for East Forsyth, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Parkland on the 11th.
