Basketball Recap: Lake County Panthers vs. Swink Lions
It was a proper cat-fight when Lake County faced off against Swink on Friday. The Lake County Panthers walked away with a 59-49 win over the Swink Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Isaiah Martinez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11-for-23 en route to 26 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lake County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Ayers, who posted nine points and three steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Cabrera, who earned 12 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Cabrera has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Landon Mills was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.
Lake County's record is now 9-12. As for Swink, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Lake County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-45 victory against Cotopaxi on the 22nd. As for Swink, they have also already played their next match, a 49-45 win against Springfield on the 22nd.
