Recap: Fillmore Flashes vs. Trinity Classical Academy Knights
The Fillmore Flashes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 84-51 loss at the hands of Trinity Classical Academy. Fillmore has struggled against Trinity Classical Academy recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Fillmore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaime Soto, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Soto has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Ocegueda, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Fillmore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Trinity Classical Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.
Fillmore will head out on the road to square off against Nordhoff at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Nordhoff is ranked 1229th, while Fillmore is ranked 1245th). As for Trinity Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vasquez at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Vasquez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Thursday.
