League recap: Alma extends winning streak with victory over Shiloh Christian

Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A West this week, Alma beat Shiloh Christian 37-14. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Airedales.

Morrilton led the league in scoring this week by notching 50 points on Clarksville. Toney Hawkins threw for 223 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 55 yards during the win.

Kevin Reynolds was a key player and the best on defense this week as Greenbrier defeated Vilonia. The 6-foot-1 senior pulled down 3 interceptions.

He was 10-14 with 0 interceptions.

Harold Ross provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Panthers beat the Eagles. He completed 15 passes for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 40 yards. Ross' key target this week was Gerrell Williamson, who caught 8 passes for 153 yards.

Hawkins put up the best numbers through the air as the Devil Dogs topped the Panthers. Hawkins' favorite target this week was Rayshod Criswell, who caught 6 passes for 110 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Criswell. The Morrilton star has 70 catches for 973 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Batesville, Will Drewry is short just 199 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 20 touchdowns this year, Drewry has thrown for 1,801 yards with 2 interceptions.

Morrilton's Criswell needs only 27 receiving yards against Nettleton to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has acheived 70 catches for 973 yards.

Alma's Malachi White needs only 94 yards against Beebe next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. White has rushed for 906 yards on 182 carries so far this year.

Randy Tribble's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,919 from 6,556. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-6 victory over Vilonia last week.
