Basketball Recap: St. Elizabeth Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Prairie Home typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday St. Elizabeth proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 71-58 victory over the Prairie Home Panthers.

It was another big night for Gavin Williams, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. He also grabbed five steals, which is notable because St. Elizabeth is 9-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nick Heckemeyer, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

St. Elizabeth has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Prairie Home and nudges their season record down to 16-4.

St. Elizabeth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-63 loss against Faith Christian Academy on the 15th. As for Prairie Home, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-43 win against Tuscumbia on the 14th.
