Basketball Game Preview: Pioneer Titans vs. Magnolia Sentinels

The Pioneer Titans and the Magnolia Sentinels will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Pioneer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

If Pioneer beats Magnolia with 85 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Pioneer enjoyed a cozy 85-66 victory over Anaheim on Thursday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Colonists are ranked 756th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Magnolia lost to Entrepreneur at home by a 56-37 margin on Thursday.

Pioneer's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Magnolia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Pioneer against Magnolia in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 74-35 victory. Will Pioneer repeat their success, or does Magnolia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
