Jay dropped down to 9-4 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Veterans Memorial Patriots. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Jay's offense was headlined by Evanjilyn Garcia and Mikayla Garcia, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Alyssa Reyes and her ten assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Wynsdae Pacheco, racking up two apiece.

As for Veterans Memorial, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Among those leading the charge was Cameron Danaher, who had 11 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had over her last six matches.

Jay has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Devine on the 23rd. As for Veterans Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Ingram Moore on the 23rd.
