Volleyball Recap: KJ Bass and Kolby Piner Secure Win for East Carteret

East Carteret hadn't done well against Northside - Pinetown recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mariners came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 25-16.

Leading East Carteret to victory were Kolby Piner and KJ Bass. Piner had 41 assists and 13 digs, while Bass had seven digs and two aces. That's the most assists Piner has posted over her last seven contests.

They weren't the only good servers: East Carteret was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are a perfect 8-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

The victory got East Carteret back to even at 9-9. As for Northside - Pinetown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
