Basketball Recap: Chayton Vaughan and Chett Vaughan Secure Win for Cumby

Cumby lost to Clarksville back in November, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Cumby Trojans enjoyed a cozy 74-57 victory over the Clarksville Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Cumby was led to victory by Chett Vaughan and Chayton Vaughan. Chett dropped a double-double on 26 points and 19 rebounds, while Chayton went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Chett's morning made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakari Johnson, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points.

Cumby pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Clarksville, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

Cumby will host Non Varsity Opponent at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clarksville, they will venture away from home to square off against Campbell at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
