Baseball Recap: Atlantis Comes Up Short

Atlantis fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Avon on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. Atlantis was not able to make up for their defeat to Avon from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Brady Cambra was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Atlantis has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Avon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Atlantis will host Southeastern RVT at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Avon, they will face off against Westport at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
