Baseball Recap: Freeman Victorious

Freeman let Summer Creek stack six runs on them in the first inning on Friday but luckily Freeman prevailed anyway. The Golden Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 8-7.

Freeman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casen Cooley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another was Isaias Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Freeman's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Summer Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

The future could be bright for both Freeman and Summer Creek: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Golden Eagles will try to hand Fort Bend Elkins their sixth-straight loss when the two meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Summer Creek will look to extend Cypress Park's three-game losing streak when they meet at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
