Fox Chapel and Greater Latrobe squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Fox Chapel had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Foxes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Jeremy Haigh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fox Chapel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Franco Pistella, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Greater Latrobe, their record now sits at an identical 15-6.

Fox Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greater Latrobe, they will square off against Pine-Richland on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.7, the Rams 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
