Basketball Recap: North Newton Piles Up the Points Against Frankfort

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rossville, North Newton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 40-12 victory over the Frankfort Hot Dogs. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.

Piper Ivey was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards. Addison Culbreth was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven boards and three steals.

North Newton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

North Newton's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Frankfort, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

North Newton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-28 loss against North Montgomery on the 3rd. As for Frankfort, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-36 defeat against Taylor on the 3rd.
