Volleyball Game Preview: Pontotoc Warriors vs. Lafayette Commodores + How To Watch

Pontotoc hasn't had much luck against Lafayette recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will host the Commodores at 6:00 p.m. Pontotoc is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, Pontotoc got the win against Columbus by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pontotoc took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-4, 25-7.

Lafayette had taken Oxford down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Commodores came up short against the Chargers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Commodores have suffered against the Chargers since August 5, 2022.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 26-24.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 12-19. As for Pontotoc, their victory bumped their record up to 16-14-1.
