Softball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Concord Spiders

Northwest Cabarrus has gone 9-1 against Concord recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Spiders at 5:00 p.m. Northwest Cabarrus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Northwest Cabarrus took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over Robinson. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Isabella Ellis was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Hatley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Northwest Cabarrus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Concord came up short against Carson on Thursday and fell 6-1.

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their record now sits at 7-8.

Northwest Cabarrus couldn't quite get it done against Concord when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
