Basketball Game Preview: Norwell Knights vs. Jay County Patriots

Norwell and Jay County are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Norwell Knights will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Jay County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Norwell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Bellmont, who was ranked 17th at the time (Norwell was ranked 18th). Norwell fell just short of Bellmont by a score of 47-44 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jay County played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Bluffton, falling 71-24. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Norwell's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Jay County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Norwell didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jay County when the teams last played back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 58-53 win. Will Norwell repeat their success, or does Jay County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
