Basketball Game Preview: Westchester Country Day Wildcats vs. Caldwell Academy Eagles

The Westchester Country Day Wildcats will square off against the Caldwell Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Westchester Country Day had to suffer through a 64-19 loss at the hands of Greensboro Day School. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Caldwell Academy faced Davidson Day in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Caldwell Academy walked away with a 71-61 victory over Davidson Day. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won four games in a row.

Caldwell Academy pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.8 points. As for Westchester Country Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Westchester Country Day suffered a grim 76-50 defeat to Caldwell Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Westchester Country Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
