Football Game Preview: Kell Longhorns vs. Southwest DeKalb Panthers + How To Watch

The Kell Longhorns will challenge the Southwest DeKalb Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Kell sitting on six straight wins and Southwest DeKalb on five.

Kell is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Hampton with a sharp 35-14 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Longhorns' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Hornets are ranked 164th).

Moonie Gipson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 161 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Kell is undefeated when Gipson posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Southwest DeKalb faced off against Jonesboro on Friday. The Panthers took their game with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over the Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Southwest DeKalb's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Kell, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-2.

Kell beat Southwest DeKalb 31-22 when the teams last played back in November of 2016. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
