Football Recap: Purnell Swett Rams vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs
Purnell Swett had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a hard 26-7 fall against the St. Pauls Bulldogs on Friday.
Raymond Cummings threw for 80 yards on nine of 22 attempts.
Calton Oxendine was his top target, picking up 65 receiving yards. On the ground,
Jamarian Douglas rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Yoshua Mcbryde had a dynamite game for St. Pauls, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Mcbryde was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. Malikah Locklear got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purnell Swett will take on Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Pauls, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
